Guides: ![]() A horse is a herd animal, and horses going out on trail rides work best in groups. The way that these groups function, is that the most experienced rider rides the lead horse, and everyone else usually has very little trouble following along. The person on the lead horse has to be very comfortable riding a horse, as the success of the whole group's trail ride depends on him/her. The rider on the lead horse needs to be able to maintain control of the group that he/she is leading, and able to give good, quick, clear, concise directions to the riders following along. If you are not an experienced rider, or if you have no-one that is experienced enough to be your group leader, or if you have never ridden with us before, and just want a simple, relaxing ride, with someone who knows the horses, and the trails.... We recommend you take a guide. . Please Tip your Guide. Guides are volunteers, NOT paid by us. $20 per group is a fair tip for an hour's worth of guide service.... For rides longer than an hour, tips average about $15/hour.... You do not have to keep your guide for a full hour, as soon as you feel comfortable and would like to continue riding alone, you are welcome to do so!!!
Volunteers Volunteers will be accepted on an individual case by case basis... Applications accepted at dne2@prodigy.net
