We offer Trail Rides for beginners and advanced riders,

guided and unguided. 

 

Riders do not have to follow a set route, you can choose your own way.

 

                       

You may  trot and gallop your horses if you wish, but please

 

be courteous to other  riders around you.

 

Especially be mindful of  Beginners who have no "need for speed".

They feel that just  BEING on  horseback is an adventure in itself! . 

 

                   

 

  

Rates are $25 an hour. 

        If you book for two hours, you get a 3rd Hour FREE.

           

       Our all-day rate is $65.

        Our Hours are:  Monday through Friday 10:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.

                                    Saturdays  8:00 a.m. through  5:00 p.m.

                                     Sundays 8:00 a.m. through  5:00 p.m.  

         We recommend, but do not require that you call before you come out.....

  If you are not an experienced rider,                                  

  or if you have no-one that is experienced enough to be your group leader,

  or if you just want a simple, relaxing ride, with someone who knows the horses, we recommend you take a guide. 

                                 . Please Tip your Guide.

                             Guides are volunteers, NOT paid by us.

                                    

   $20 per group is a fair tip for an hour's worth of guide service....

   tips should be bigger for larger parties and longer rides.

   Gaited Horse Rental 

For those of us who appreciate a smooth ride, gaited horses are available on request. 

It costs $35 to rent a gaited horse for an hour. 

Rent for two hours, and get an hour for free.

 

               

 Adventure Rides have to be booked in advance. NOT AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.

 

                    

 

 Day Camp rates for young people..... .....to spend a day with us.

  Day camp rate is $75 a day ($200 a week), and includes two rides, morning and afternoon. 

  Children staying for day camp should be mature enough

  to behave in a  responsible manner around horses.

  This will be judged on a case by case basis, but the minimum age is generally around 8. 

  Sun City Stables reserves the right to call parents to take their child home,

  should their behavior be unacceptable to us.

 

   Volunteers

  Helping out with the horses in return for riding time.....

 Boarding Horses

 

Full Board is $300/month.

 

feed, hay, "Source", free-range minerals and salt blocks

nightly turnout...horses are "out" between  about 5 pm and 8 am.

10' x 24' pen with 4' entrance gate...horses are "in" between about 9 am and 5 pm. 

attached 10' x 12' private covered area for owner's tack and personal possessions.

use of wash areas, round pens, picnic areas and riding trails.

 

 Leasing a Horse

      Leases are done at $375/month on a month-to-month basis, renewable at our discretion.

 

 

  Riding Lessons

$30 an hour includes 30 minutes of instruction and 30 minutes of free riding time.

$50 an hour includes 30 minutes of riding instruction and 30 minutes of theory /

horse care / ground work.

Yee-hah!
Horse Training - Actually, there's very little "Yee-hah!" to it. It's a question of persistence, consistence, confidence, tenacity and gentleness, combined with a knowledge of equine physiology and psychology.

Only a horse that knows its boundaries and feels secure is capable of achieving its potential.

A well-trained horse is a joy.

We strive continually to learn more about these wonderful animals, and we love to help others understand, appreciate and enjoy their equine companion(s). But, then again, a little bit of "Yee-hah!" is a LOT of fun!!!

                      We offer Pony Parties at your place or ours.

Rates vary, but may include two ponies OR a horse and a pony

OR two horses OR a horse/pony with a selection of Petting Zoo animals.
